We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Research Analyst to join our team, with a focus on Germany, Austria and Switzerland (the DACH region). You’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing two of Citywire’s most important data resources: our Audience and Fund Manager databases, ensuring we have the most accurate, insightful view of the asset management industry.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys investigative research, spotting patterns, and continuously improving how things are done. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business and use a mix of online sources, internal data, and third-party contacts to keep our information sharp, consistent, and meaningful.

What you’ll be doing:

-Maintaining and developing our Audience Database, classifying professionals across the asset management space using Citywire’s taxonomy.

-Updating the Fund Manager Database, mapping international career movements and affiliations of leading fund managers.

-Researching company structures and job roles across the DACH region to better categorise professionals and evolve our classification model.

-Becoming a go-to expert on asset classes, sectors, fund manager profiles, and investment companies.

-Identifying ways to improve internal processes and data quality.

-Supporting internal teams and special projects with reliable, accurate insights.

-Collaborating with our tech and data teams to shape smarter, more efficient systems over time.

-Enhancing your knowledge of the asset management industry and developing your expertise in financial data and investment trends.

-Learning to develop automation and efficiency improvements within the team, including working with SQL and Looker Studio, and building the knowledge needed to help run the monthly Fund Manager Ratings crunch.

What we’re looking for:

-Research & Data Skills: You enjoy following leads, analysing patterns, and verifying information using a range of digital sources and datasets.

-Language proficiency: Fluent or professional level in German and English, both written and spoken.

-Process Mindset: You’re always curious about how things work and how to make them better.

-Excel Knowledge: You’re confident with VLOOKUPs, pivot tables and similar tools.

-Attention to Detail: You notice things others might miss, and take pride in accuracy.

-Organisation: You’re comfortable juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.

-Communication: Clear and professional, especially when sharing insights with different teams.

-Industry Interest: Some understanding of asset or wealth management is a bonus, but we’ll help you build this knowledge if it’s new to you!
