Job Role: Art/DT Teacher
Location: Newham & Tower Hamlets
Salary: £185 - £285 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Permanent, Long Term

GSL Education London Branch is currently seeking a passionate and inspiring Art/DT Teacher to work in vibrant secondary schools across Newham and Tower Hamlets. This is a fantastic opportunity to join schools that value creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning. The position begins in September 2025 and is available on a permanent, long-term basis.

We are looking for an Art/DT Teacher who can deliver engaging and practical lessons that spark imagination and develop key skills in Art and Design Technology. This is a great chance to bring your artistic flair and technical know-how into the classroom and support students in expressing themselves while learning valuable life skills.

Responsibilities of an Art/DT Teacher:

Deliver engaging Art and Design Technology lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
Plan and prepare creative and practical lessons that inspire pupils and promote independent thinking
Foster a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages exploration and expression
Promote high standards of behaviour, effort, and presentation in all student work
Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to meet the needs of all learners
Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan projects and enrich the curriculum
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support development
Requirements for the Art/DT Teacher role:

Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Art and/or Design Technology in a secondary school setting
Strong knowledge of the Art/DT curriculum and assessment methods
Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain high expectations
Creative, organised, and enthusiastic about supporting young people
Willingness to take part in department and whole-school events
