About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer (Backend Developer) for the FinTech business unit of a leading global digital travel platform. This role involves building innovative regulatory technology solutions to ensure compliance and manage risks. The engineer will work on a mission-critical platform that uses state-of-the-art technology for sanctions screening and other regulatory processes. The position requires developing highly scalable distributed systems and micro-services that support business objectives and enhance the experience for partners and internal stakeholders

What You'll Do

Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices that power our compliance platforms.
Develop tools and systems for sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
Optimize backend processes for performance, reliability, and data integrity.
Enhance tooling, analytics, and reporting used by internal compliance stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand regulatory processes and deliver technical solutions.
Participate in on-call rotations, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to hiring efforts and mentoring junior engineers.What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience in software development with at least 2 server-side languages - Java being must have
Proven experience with microservices architecture and scalable, distributed systems.
Proficient in data technologies like MySQL, Hadoop, or Cassandra.
Experience with batch processing, data pipelines, and data integrity practices.
Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., RDS, Step Functions, EC2, Kinesis) is a plus.
Solid understanding of unit, integration, and E2E testing paradigms.
Prior experience in FinTech, Financial sector, Banking or Payment system.
Awareness of security best practices (authentication, authorization).
