What You’ll Be Doing as a Chemistry Teacher

As a Chemistry Teacher, you will deliver engaging, challenging, and interactive lessons that spark curiosity in students and help them develop a deep understanding of chemistry. You will teach across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, ensuring students gain the skills and knowledge to succeed in their exams and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver High-Quality Lessons: Provide engaging Chemistry lessons that inspire students and deepen their understanding of scientific principles.

  • Curriculum Development and Delivery: Teach Chemistry in line with the national curriculum, adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess students’ progress in Chemistry, providing constructive feedback and developing strategies to improve their learning.

  • Promote Science Engagement: Encourage students to participate in extra-curricular science activities, clubs, and events to further their interest in Chemistry.

  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other Chemistry Teachers to share ideas, resources, and best practices, fostering a supportive and collaborative department.

    Who We Are Looking For

    We are looking for a qualified Chemistry Teacher who is passionate about their subject and dedicated to creating a positive, engaging classroom environment.

  • Qualifications: A degree in Chemistry (or a related field) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) are essential for this role.

  • Experience: While we welcome applications from newly qualified Chemistry Teachers, experience in teaching Chemistry at GCSE and A-level is preferred.

  • Passion for Chemistry: You should have a real passion for Chemistry and a desire to share this enthusiasm with your students.
