Siemens - Commercial Electricity Metering
Commercial Electrical Meter Engineer
Salary: £42,500 to £45,100/year (DOE)

Are you a Commercial Electrical Meter Engineer looking for a new challenge?
As Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) worldwide bid farewell to outdated 2G networks, an industry shift is underway.
That's where you come in.
Search Energy is working in partnership with global powerhouse Siemens to expand their Commercial Electricity Metering field team.
We are recruiting 25 Electrical Meter Engineers nationwide, to support Siemens phase out their outdated and costly 2G networks and pave the way for enhanced 4G and 5G services.
This project demands a dynamic response team; the work is a mixture of 3 phase and LV / HVCT so we are hiring a range of engineers with different skill levels to join the team. An unquestionable attitude to safety, excellent customer service skills, and "can do" attitude is a pre-requisite for this role.

What are the key responsibilities?

  • Carry out complete installations and replacements of single phase and 3 phase WC AMR meters for varying contracts in varying locations
  • Installation and Maintenance of LV COP3, COP 5 and COP 10 Smart Metering Systems for Commercial and Industrial Customers
  • Installation, programming and commissioning of LVCT metering
  • Installation of meter wiring looms on LVCT from Terminal Test Blocks

    Why is this happening?

With many MNOs having already turned off 2G in many countries, networks are becoming less reliable. That means, the modems and SIM cards across Siemens' portfolio will need to be replaced and in some cases, so will the meters. And, there is only a short window of time to complete this activity and ensure customers continue to receive their data.
Apply today and be the spark that fuels progress.

    What's in it for you?
  • Permanent contracts with Salaries £38,850 to £43,795 banding dependent on quals and experience
  • Bonus scheme (up to 12% annual)
  • Opportunity for progression and development
  • Life insurance
  • Pension
  • 34 days holiday

As part of the role, Search in partnership with Siemens offers bespoke upskilling opportunities to enable you to move to the next level of qualification in the commercial metering space. 3 phase to LVCT and LVCT to HVCT opportunities will be available for the right talent.
Siemens will also consider flexible working arrangements; please speak to us to discuss what you are looking for.
    .
This role is managed by Search Energy in partnership with Siemens. If you are interested or want to discuss in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact us on (url removed) or call Peter on (phone number removed).

Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age

The Future of Data Engineering Jobs: Careers That Don’t Exist Yet

Data engineering has quietly become one of the most crucial roles in modern technology. While data science and artificial intelligence often attract the headlines, it is data engineering that provides the foundation. By building pipelines, managing databases, and ensuring data quality, data engineers make it possible for organisations to analyse, innovate, and grow. In the UK, data engineering is booming. Banks rely on engineers to process financial transactions in real time. Retailers depend on them to analyse customer behaviour. Healthcare providers use engineered data to fuel predictive analytics in the NHS. Demand is so strong that data engineering has become one of the fastest-growing roles in the tech sector, with salaries reflecting its importance. But the story doesn’t stop here. As AI, quantum computing, edge intelligence, sustainability, and regulation reshape how we manage information, the role of data engineers will evolve dramatically. Many of the most important data engineering jobs of the next two decades don’t exist yet. This article explores why new roles are coming, what they might look like, how current jobs will change, why the UK is positioned to lead, and how professionals can prepare.
