We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist at our Taw Valley Creamery in Devon, which takes in 1.1 million litres of Milk daily, in turn producing around 125 ton of the nation’s favourites Cheddar Cheese a day . The site has recently received .c £200 million investment for a state of the art Mozzarella plant meaning there has never been a better time to join the team! Day to day you will identify continuous improvement activities in your area for process improvements, waste removal and cost reductions.

How will you make an impact?

• Owns and leads weekly CI meetings for planned downtime and speed loss applying data analyses, structured problem solving and improvement tools.

• Owns, analyses and tracks asset performance data incl. data quality and completeness e.g. MDE, SAP & OEE.

• Owns Creates plan for improvement of OEE for production lines

• Ensures that the LCO Areas improvement activities are quantified and reflected in OneCI.

• Owns operational standards and corresponding competence development in the Line Team.

• Defines, process confirms and improves operational standards including OAC.

• Trains & coaches Line Team to ensure performance according to operational standards and secure right use of IT systems.

• Optimizes existing processes by regularly conducting Kaizen Lean workshops, relevant analyses and process confirmations.

• Coordinates & supports implementation of new digital tools, products & ways of working and secure onboarding of Line Teams.

• Initiates and drives Continuous Improvement initiatives in collaboration with Line Team.

• Role models by actively using data and deploying lean and APS tools in a structured way.

What you will need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Basic understanding of food manufacturing

  • Knowledge of Lean Principles (Six Sigma qualification) would be preferred.

  • Previous experience within an FMCG or dairy industry would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.

  • Database experience, working with SQL code, preferred but not essential as training will be given
