    Job Description:

    As a Controls Engineer (Automated Test Equipment Engineer), you will be part of a close-knit team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software and hardware applications to support manufacturing operations. You will work on automated assembly, functional testing, and production monitoring solutions.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project, manufacturing, and test equipment teams to capture requirements

  • Develop software and hardware specifications

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust control system solutions

  • Develop and program PLCs and HMIs for industrial automation

  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to control systems

  • Manage production test solutions throughout their lifecycle

  • Provide training and guidance to apprentices and operators

  • Support company-wide software and hardware initiatives

  • Occasionally travel off-site for equipment inspections, training, and remote support

    Skills & Experience:

    Essential:

  • Degree in Engineering, Electronics, or Physics (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience in designing and implementing control systems (PLC & HMI programming)

  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron)

  • Familiarity with industrial automation systems and protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus)

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated with strong organisational and time management abilities

    Desirable:

  • Project management experience

  • Experience as a Technical Lead

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing techniques

  • Familiarity with LabVIEW Real-Time and LabVIEW FPGA

  • Experience with robotics, motion control systems, and pneumatic integration

  • Knowledge of SQL databases and additional programming languages
