Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain customisations and extensions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using AL.

Lead system upgrades, patches, and integration efforts with internal and external systems.

Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop functional/technical specifications.

Optimise Business Central configuration and performance.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for BC and related financial systems.

Maintain clear documentation and ensure compliance with GDPR and DORA regulations.

Support reporting and data extraction using SQL and other tools.

Keep up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in the ERP and financial systems space.

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a D365 Business Central development or technical SME role.

Expertise in AL language and Business Central development environment.

Strong understanding of finance modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable).

Solid knowledge of SQL, APIs, and system integration techniques.

Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

Experience with ERP upgrades, system migrations, and configuration best practices.

Familiarity with compliance and data security standards (e.g., GDPR, DORA).

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

5+ years of hands-on ERP/Business Central experience.

Exposure to Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).

Experience in multi-national or high-compliance environments.

Understanding of project management and system lifecycle processes.
