Data Engineers at Clevertouch are part of a wider DevLabs department, supporting their colleagues in building, maintaining and managing complex data connectivity, remediation and control tools. 

 

Supporting on both client and internal projects, Engineers can work on complex data challenges, across a wide array of technologies, ecosystems and almost always against the backdrop of messy data models. 

 

Whether you’re writing new Python modules, in a client platform to rebuild their data model, or leveraging a series of API tools to bridge the integration gaps between their systems, supporting our Developers or Analysts on our range of SaaS products or launching new services, Data Engineers are problem solvers at heart. 

 

Solving these difficulties with technical solutions is just one part of the puzzle, as you also must be able to engage with our clients, offering consultative guidance on best practices, supporting their wider ambitions and ensuring you are also working to enhance both our own offering, but also to help progress and improve the industry as a whole. 

 

Even as a Data Engineer, you’ll need to have an analytical mind, supporting on data audits or reviews, as well as jumping into some more consultative work, helping to build processes in platforms, grow your pool of certifications and expanding your capabilities and skills in a variety of areas. 


ESSENTIAL SKILLS​ 

  • Strong Python development skills, with at least 2 years of experience in a commercial environment. 
  • Knowledge and experience with utilising SQL and relational databases, structures, and their non-relational, non-SQL alternatives. 
  • Development experience and practical knowledge, in areas such as DRY, package management and secure development concepts 
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and of agile practices for effective development, collaboration, and project management 
  • Time management skills and a capability to be self-sufficient in your own schedule management, to meet client expectations and deadlines 
  • A strong analytic and problem-solving skillset, with the ability to conceptualise, design and implement unique solutions to a wide range of challenges and problems 
  • Ability to engage with clients, be customer face, understand their challenges and translate technical jargon to non-technical stakeholders, providing guidance and support 
  • Ability to digest client briefs, understand key requirements and write technical documentation, provide levels of effort and support on writing and amending scopes 

 

DESIREABLE SKILLS​ 

  • Experience within the Martech space, with services such as Marketo, Pardot, etc… 
  • Prior experience or exposure to CRM systems such as Salesforce, Dynamics, etc… 
  • An understanding and appreciation of AI & Machine Learning 
  • Familiarity with BI & Analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc… 
  • Willingness to engage with industry events, attend seminars, webinars and contribute to the wider industry through thought leadership and social engagements 
  • Experience with server infrastructure, such as AWS, DigitalOcean
