Join our dynamic team as a Data Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining a comprehensive suite of reports for various products, handling regulatory reporting, and providing general data insights. This role will also involve significant projects such as migrating existing reports to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and remodelling legacy data to enhance scalability and support product development. This position requires a deep involvement in core data engineering tasks with a strong focus on reporting.

Data Engineer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Working structure: Hybrid working, four day week
Salary: Up to £46,000

Day-to-day of the role:

Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of reports for both new and existing products.
Handle regulatory reporting and routine tasks.
Provide general data insights to support business decisions.
Migrate existing reports to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and remodel legacy data.
Work closely with various teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Essential experience with SQL and ETL development, including data profiling.
Familiarity with cloud computing principles.
Experience with Kafka and/or BigQuery is highly desirable, as well as experience with Postgres.
Proven ability in data modelling and working with various databases, including unstructured data.
Understanding of data security standards and data protection principles.
Self-starter and proactive individual, capable of working autonomously after initial onboarding.
