We have an exciting new opportunity for a Data Engineer within the Group IT Applications team at Croda. As a Data Engineer, you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the Analytics team and wider Group IT and Croda business to deliver data products from a wide variety of sources to solve business problems and deliver value.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data integration solutions. This role involves working closely with analysts and business stakeholders to ensure efficient data pipelines, ETL processes, and data quality across multiple systems and platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from numerous data sources (from ERP to cloud-based systems).
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust data integration solutions and data pipelines.
  • Automate processes using appropriate scripting and integration tools.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across projects and platforms.
  • Work closely with business users, IT teams, and project stakeholders to understand data structures and needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of data engineers.
  • Troubleshoot data issues and optimise performance.
  • Document ETL processes and develop best practices for future use.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in data engineering projects and data warehousing.
  • Strong expertise in using Talend and Snowflake.
  • Strong expertise in ETL tools and data transformation techniques (JSON, XML).
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for automation.
  • Knowledge of metadata structures, relational databases, and data modelling.
  • Hands-on experience with version control and CI/CD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
