We're looking for a Data Specialist ("Junior Marketing Data Engineer") to help further our growth, through working primarily with customer and performance marketing data in data pipelines (primarily in Python, using Airflow & Dataform) and data warehouses (primarily in BigQuery).

Experience in SQL and Python is required. JavaScript experience is beneficial.

Job Summary

The Data Engineer role is a specialised role designed for those who can lead on client and internal projects with limited support. The individual is expected to contribute specialist knowledge and capability to client work, Impression's marketing contributions, and our internal training programme, to ensure that this knowledge is shared with colleagues. A Data Engineer is considered a future capability expert and through their work contributions will be seen as such internally and externally over time.

This role is on the Individual Contributor pathway and does not necessarily require line management. Additional responsibilities will include contributions to department initiatives.

Technical Skills

  • ETL/ELT

  • Writing complex SQL
  • Python development
  • Experience or familiarity with Meltano (or similar), AirFlow/Composer, BigQuery, Google Cloud is beneficial

Requirements

  • We are looking for an individual with at least 2 years commercial work experience in a related field

Responsibilities

    • Implement and manage data pipelines using cloud orchestration, ELT/ETL platforms and data warehouses
    • Collaborate with internal and client teams to uncover opportunities to make data work harder for our clients' marketing/advertising operations
    • Play a proactive part in client project delivery and project management, meeting deadlines
    • Contribute to Impression's marketing efforts through written content, webinars and/or speaking at events
    • Deliver timely and effective client and team communications, in accordance with client promise
    • Plans tasks using project management software and uses this to delegate through the team according to resources available
    • Works collaboratively or autonomously alongside client success and their expectations to meet client satisfaction targets
    • Following internal people processes and ensuring full compliance with and knowledge of internal policies
    • Demonstrate a curiosity in AI and machine learning and where relevant, bring this into the technology solutions
    • Support the broader Solutions team in areas of work such as Business Intelligence dash boarding, digital analytics and data science.
    • It's impossible to capture every contribution here, so from time to time additional contributions may be required, but in any case these will be relatively small.

SALARY: £28,600 DOE

Please note, this role is a hybrid role, in line with our flexible working policy. We look to hire candidates who are no more than a 90 minute journey away from our office locations to ensure your personal time is protected and that you're able to travel into the office when necessary.
