About the Role

Are you passionate about data governance and quality? bpha is seeking a Data Governance and Quality Expert to lead the development and implementation of data governance and data quality frameworks across our organisation. This is a pivotal role, providing expert guidance, designing and delivering training, and engaging with senior leaders to embed best practices and ensure data is treated as a strategic asset.

As a Data Governance and Quality Expert, you will be:

  • Acting as the go-to expert for data governance and data quality, influencing and supporting senior leaders to adopt best practices.

  • Developing, assessing, and implementing data governance and data quality frameworks, policies, and standards.

  • Defining and promoting clear roles and responsibilities for data ownership and stewardship.

  • Designing and delivering engaging training programmes to increase awareness and capability across the organisation.

  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitating workshops and gathering feedback.

  • Establishing and monitoring KPIs and metrics to track data quality and governance effectiveness, leading continuous improvement initiatives.

    About you:

  • Proven experience in data governance, data quality, and data management.

  • Strong understanding of data-related regulations (e.g., GDPR, Data Protection Act).

  • Experience designing and delivering training programmes.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially with senior leaders.

  • Ability to translate complex data concepts into accessible language.

  • Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies.

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience.

    Desirable:

  • Experience in change management and organisational transformation.

  • Certifications in Data Governance/Data Management (e.g., DAMA, DCAM).

  • Project or programme management experience.
