    What does the role look like?

    We're recruiting a Digital Engineer role to join our Collins Aerospace, Actuation Systems business. In this role you will implement, develop, and support critical Engineering applications used in the Design, Development and Support of our products.

    You will manage and optimise digital tools and server environments, while collaborating with Engineering, DT and Operations teams to troubleshoot issues, ensure system stability, and enhance workflows.

    The role requires expertise in Windows Server management, with familiarity in Linux systems as a bonus, alongside experience with Aerospace Engineering tools (e.g., CAD, PLM). You’ll document processes, deliver user training, and work with stakeholders to assess and implement new digital solutions.

    This position offers the flexibility of remote or hybrid working and a collaborative environment for professional growth. Please note we cannot offer sponsorship for this role.

    What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Deploy/Implement, develop, and support Engineering applications

  • Provide technical expertise for digital Engineering tools (e.g., flight control design and simulation).

  • Manage Windows server environments (e.g. OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP).

  • Perform maintenance, upgrades, and security monitoring for applications and servers.

  • Collaborate with DT, Engineering and Operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

  • Support Linux server management

  • Assess and implement new digital tools to improve efficiency.

  • Document processes, procedures, and best practices.

  • Develop training materials and deliver user training sessions (remote and in person).

    What will you bring to the role?

    Essential skills:

  • Experience with digital Engineering tools such as CAD, PLM, ALM, and requirements/document management systems

  • Proficiency in programming languages for automation and tool customisation, such as Python, C#, VBScript, SQL or PowerShell

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues

    Desirable skills:

  • Background in Windows Server administration, including OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft Exchange

  • Proficiency in scripting and automation for task efficiency (e.g., using Python or PowerShell).

  • Knowledge of Agile or DevOps methodologies is beneficial.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams across IT, Engineering and Operations functions

  • Familiarity with Linux server management (preferred but not essential)

  • Experience in creating and maintaining documentation for processes, procedures, and best practices.
