Innovate & Create in Cambridge! Full-Time Design & Technology Teacher at a Leading Independent College (September 2025 Start - KS4, KS5 & International Students)

Are you an inspiring and highly skilled Design & Technology (DT) Teacher passionate about empowering students to design, innovate, and bring their ideas to life? Our leading independent college in the historic academic city of Cambridge is seeking an enthusiastic Full-Time Teacher of DT to join our dynamic and highly successful department from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to cultivate creativity, technical proficiency, and problem-solving skills in bright and highly motivated Key Stage 4 (GCSE Design & Technology) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Design & Technology) students, many of whom are international, within a supportive and ambitious educational environment.

In this rewarding full-time role, you'll get to:

  • Spark Design Thinking: Deliver engaging and stimulating DT lessons, guiding students through the design process from concept generation to prototyping and evaluation.

  • Develop Practical Skills: Equip students with mastery in a range of materials (e.g., wood, metal, plastics, textiles) and manufacturing techniques, using modern workshop facilities.

  • Foster Innovation: Encourage students to push creative boundaries, embrace sustainable design principles, and develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.

  • Embrace Diverse Learners: Work with a diverse cohort of highly academic students, including a significant proportion of international learners, tailoring your approach to support their varied learning styles and aspirations.

  • Contribute to a Collaborative Department: Join a supportive and innovative department that values teamwork, shared best practice, and a collective commitment to student success.

  • Leverage Cambridge's Engineering Heritage: Draw inspiration from Cambridge's renowned engineering and technology sectors, connecting classroom learning to cutting-edge industry practices.

  • Shape Future Designers & Engineers: Play a key role in guiding A-Level students towards further study at top UK and international universities in Design, Engineering, Architecture, Product Design, and other creative-technical fields.

    We're looking for a passionate and qualified Design & Technology Teacher with QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification, and a strong academic or professional background in DT, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field. A proven ability to deliver inspiring and effective lessons across GCSE and A-Level DT, and an appreciation for the needs of international students, are essential.
