Jackson Hogg are delighted to be partnering with a client of ours based in the Darlington area for their search of a PHP Developer to join their growing team.

Primary Duties:

  • Collaborate closely with diverse teams to grasp project requirements and convert them into detailed technical specifications.

  • Execute data migration operations to facilitate seamless transfer and synchronization of data across various platforms and databases.

  • Craft tailored PHP applications and modules that address business demands, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and secure.

  • Conduct rigorous unit testing and debugging procedures to swiftly identify and rectify software flaws.

  • Enhance MySQL databases by fine-tuning schema designs, indexing strategies, and optimizing queries for improved performance.

  • Integrate external APIs and services adeptly to extend the functionality of existing applications.

  • Uphold coding standards and best practices while writing well-documented and maintainable code.

  • Provide responsive technical support to end-users, addressing and resolving issues related to PHP applications and MySQL databases.

  • Actively participate in code reviews, offering valuable insights on code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.

    Qualifications

  • A comprehensive understanding of PHP development and MySQL database management

  • Proficient in the PHP programming language, encompassing object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

  • Sound comprehension of MySQL database essentials, including SQL query optimisation and database normalisation techniques.

  • Preferred familiarity with PHP frameworks such as Laravel.

  • Knowledgeable about front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.

  • Competent in using version control systems like Git.

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies is advantageous.

  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic work environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
