Senior Business Analyst (Data & Technology)

A leading business technology provider is undergoing a major enterprise-wide transformation - and they're looking for a Senior Business Analyst to help shape the future of their data and technology landscape.

The role is remote, and is therefore open to candidates across the UK, with infrequent travel to their Head Office near Brighton around once per month (expenses covered).

This is a new role, with a primary focus on a major data transformation project. The aim is to transition the business from its current landscape of bespoke, custom-built systems to more modern, streamlined solutions - such as the implementation of ServiceNow and a new Snowflake data warehouse.

Due to the technical nature of the role, a strong understanding of data structures and data modelling is key, and hands-on skills in SQL would be a real advantage.

Key responsibilities will include:

Leading impact assessments of proposed data model changes across a complex systems landscape
Analysing dependencies between legacy in-house systems and new platforms
Conducting detailed data mapping and collaborating with technical architects to design optimal data model structures.
Communicating impact findings and risk assessments to business stakeholders in a clear, accessible manner
Developing migration strategies and roadmaps for approved changes.Requirements:

Prior experience as a Business Analyst, working on data-focused projects
Strong knowledge of relational database design, normalisation, data modelling principles and data warehousing concepts
Hands-on experience with SQL would be highly advantageous
Able to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
A genuine interest in technologyBenefits:

Salary up to around £68,000 depending on experience

Please Note: This is role for UK residents only. This role does not offer Sponsorship. You must have the right to work in the UK with no restrictions. Some of our roles may be subject to successful background checks including a DBS and Credit Check.

Data Engineering Jobs Salary Calculator 2025: Work Out Your True Worth in Seconds

Why last year’s pay survey misleads data engineers today Ask any Data Engineer elbow‑deep in late‑arriving CDC streams, an Analytics Engineer stockpiling dbt models, or a DataOps Lead juggling Airflow failures: “Am I earning what I deserve?” The answer changes monthly. New GPU‑hungry AI workloads spike storage costs, lakehouse toolchains displace legacy marts, & suddenly real‑time streaming isn’t “nice to have” but the lion’s share of your backlog. Each shift nudges salary bands. A PDF salary guide printed in 2024 under‑reports pay the moment Databricks announces another acquisition or HMRC mandates digital provenance. To provide an up‑to‑date benchmark, DataEngineeringJobs.co.uk distilled a transparent, three‑factor formula. Plug in your discipline, UK region, & seniority; out pops a realistic 2025 salary. No stale averages, no guesswork. This article unpacks the formula, details the forces pushing data‑engineering pay upward, & offers five practical actions to lift your value in the next ninety days.
