My client is undergoing a major database restructuring initiative revamping key performance metrics and entire DB structure. This is a roe with Significant opportunity to shape long-term data strategy and standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Maintenance

Install, configure, and maintain RDS PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments.

Monitor database health, performance, and security to ensure high availability.

Support database upgrades and patching to maintain system security and reliability.

Support & Troubleshooting

Provide Level 1 & Level 2 support for database-related incidents and service requests.

Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to resolve database issues.

Maintain and update documentation for database configurations and operational procedures.

Performance Tuning & Optimization

Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database structures for improved performance.

Identify and resolve slow queries, locking issues, and deadlocks.

Review developer code and work with teams to enhance stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

Automation & Scripting

Write SQL scripts and automate routine DBA tasks using Bash or Python.

Learn and utilize monitoring tools such as Datadog and Grafana.

Your Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 2 years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration or a related database role.

Proficiency in SQL, query optimization, and indexing strategies.

Basic knowledge of Linux command-line operations and shell scripting.

Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is an advantage.

Experience in financial services or transaction-heavy environments is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform under pressure.

Exposure to NoSQL and In-Memory databases is a plus.
