We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient CAD/PLM Administrator to provide Engineering and General IT support to our site.

In this role, you will support and maintain our Siemens NX and Teamcenter environments across both engineering and IT domains. This hybrid role serves as a critical link between engineering design and information technology, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our CAD and PLM systems. You will also provide end-user support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across both areas.

What you will be doing
CAD/PLM Administration (NX & Teamcenter):

  • Administer and maintain Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM environments, ensuring system uptime, data integrity, and performance.

  • Manage user access, roles, and permissions in Teamcenter and NX.

  • Configure and support Teamcenter integrations with NX, including BOMs, revisions, release processes, and lifecycle workflows.

  • Implement and enforce CAD/PLM standards, templates, and document control procedures.

  • Provide Tier 1/2 user support and training for engineers and designers using NX and Teamcenter.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, training guides, and user support materials. IT/Systems Administration:

  • Work closely with the IT department to install, configure, and maintain NX and Teamcenter servers (on-prem or cloud-hosted).

  • Support software upgrades, patches, and license management (FlexNet, Siemens License Server, etc.).

  • Monitor system performance and perform preventive maintenance on CAD/PLM servers and workstations.

  • Manage backups, disaster recovery planning, and data migrations for CAD and PLM data.

  • Troubleshoot issues involving system integrations, network connectivity, and user authentication (e.g., LDAP, SSO).

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure access and compliance with IT policies.

  • Manage hardware (Laptops & Phones), Stock and installation of computer operating systems.

  • Assist with general day-to-day IT problems

  • Carry out inductions with new users across various departments

    Desirable

  • HNC/HND Engineering qualification.

  • Understanding of engineering systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter in an administrative role.

  • Strong understanding of both engineering processes and IT systems infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with CAD/PLM system architecture, deployment, and integrations.

  • Experience with Teamcenter BMIDE, Active Workspace, and user environment configuration.

  • Experience with Windows Server environments, virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V), and network configuration.  Scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, ITK, TCL, or Python) for automation and customisation.

  • Experience with multi-site CAD/PLM deployments.

  • Teamcenter certification or Siemens PLM training.

  • Knowledge of product development lifecycle and change management processes (ECO/ECN).

  • Experience in a regulated industry (maritime and defence) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, SQL databases, and cloud services (AWS/Azure) is a bonus.
