We are now looking for an Analyst Programmer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 17:00 at our Grange Park site in Northampton, with a requirement to cover out-of-hours support, subject to business needs.

    The Role

    As an Analyst Programmer, you will support and develop operational solutions for our warehouse and transport management systems.

    Using the RPG IV development stack within critical business applications on the AS400/iSeries platform, you will evaluate user needs, develop technical specifications, and create efficient, tailored solutions.

    You will also:

  • Provide ongoing technical support for AS400/iSeries applications
  • Use RPG IV, Free Format, and SQL to develop, test, and modify programmes
  • Document solution designs and functional specifications
  • Perform unit, integration, and user acceptance testing
  • Liaise with stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure delivery
  • Continuously seek process improvements and support business growth

    About You

    To be considered as an Analyst Programmer, you will need:

  • Experience with RPG III, RPG IV, RPG ILE, RPG Free Format, Query/400, and SQL/400
  • Experience in SDLC processes and tools
  • A track record of analysing and debugging code with efficiency improvements
  • Strong documentation skills and commercial awareness
  • The ability to develop applications that meet operational requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
