Senior C++ Developer
Contract
Daily Rate: Up to £750 (inside IR35 via umbrella)
Contract Length: 6 Months

Hybrid working - 3 days in London

About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior C++ Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in enhancing and growing their cutting-edge PTP software platform. This platform serves as a cloud-based Securities Processing solution, delivering trade lifecycle processing for a diverse array of global financial institutions. You will be instrumental in implementing strategic enhancements and collaborating on client implementation projects.

About the Team:
Joining the PTP Platform development group means becoming part of an agile environment. The group is divided into smaller scrum teams, each responsible for specific areas of system functionality. As a Senior C++ Software Engineer, you will engage in all phases of the development lifecycle and take ownership of key functional areas, ensuring high-quality software delivery.

What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, your responsibilities will include:

analysing user requirements and translating them into effective solution designs.
Estimating and breaking down tasks into manageable components for efficient execution.
Implementing new features and enhancing existing functionalities within the platform.
Leading code reviews and promoting best practises within a small, focused, and agile team.
Mentoring junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.

What You Will Need:
To be successful in this role, you should have:

Extensive commercial software development experience using C++.
Proficiency in SQL.
Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
A relevant degree in a numeric discipline or equivalent work experience.
Excellent written and spoken English skills.

Added Bonus if You Have:

Experience with Oracle.
Familiarity with event-driven distributed messaging systems (e.g., Kafka).
Knowledge of financial markets and the trade lifecycle.
Experience with C# and any GUI development.
