Contract Data Analyst (Looker BI)

Introduction:

My client is a fast-growing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Partner based in Glasgow, specialising in delivering advanced data and analytics solutions to clients within the Financial Services sector. Their mission is to empower financial organisations with cutting-edge cloud technology, enabling smarter, faster decisions through scalable, secure data solutions.

Due to a growing portfolio of client projects, they are seeking a skilled Data Analyst with recent experience using Looker to join our team on a contract basis.

Key Details:

Job Title: Contract Data Analyst (Looker BI)
Location: Fully Remote (Company HQ: Glasgow, UK)
Contract Length: 6 Months (Initial)
Day Rate: £250 - £300 per day (Outside IR35)
Start Date: 19.05.2025

Responsibilities:

Play a key role in turning complex data into meaningful insights and business value.
Collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data needs.
Designing and building Looker dashboards and reports, using LookML and SQL to deliver accurate and scalable data models.
Interpreting large datasets to provide actionable insights and drive decision-making.
Ensuring high data quality through validation, testing, and troubleshooting data inconsistencies.
Partnering with engineering and cloud teams to ensure data pipelines and models align with GCP infrastructure best practices.

Skills & Experience:

Proven commercial experience as a Data Analyst (4+ years)
Strong hands-on experience with Looker, including dashboard creation, data modelling (LookML), and report development.
Advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery.
Ability to present data insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
Experience working as a Data Analyst in the Financial Services sector (desirable)
Familiarity with Git or other version control systems in a BI/reporting context.
