Database Architect

Location: Burgess Hill, UK
Job Type: FTE
Salary: (Apply online only) GBP/ Year

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Database Architect with experience in working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle for application development, database placement design, tuning, DDL promotion, and upgrades. If you have a passion for solving complex database challenges and possess a strong technical background, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, construct, and oversee complex database solutions for critical applications.

Analyze structural requirements and design conceptual and logical data models.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless database integration.

Take initiative in tackling new database challenges and implementing best practices.

Work on cloud-based technologies (Azure) and assist with database upgrades and tuning.

Required Skills & Experience:

Mandatory: Strong experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle); knowledge of SQL Server is a plus.

Expertise in database design, tuning, and DDL promotion.

Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Couchbase and Cassandra (ideally).

Ability to design, develop, and optimize database solutions.

Strong working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Git, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, and exposure to CI/CD pipelines.

Technical Qualifications: Graduate/Postgraduate qualifications, ideally with prior experience in a financial or fintech company.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Jira, Rally, Kanban, Confluence).
