We’reseeking a proactive and experienced Data Governance Lead to shape and deliver our data governance strategy, ensuring our data is trusted, secure, and used effectively across the organisation. This is a new, high-impact role that will work cross-functionally to establish robust frameworks, policies, and processes that underpin data quality, compliance, and value creation.

About the role

The Governance lead will devise and implement data governance and master data management processes and derive data management structures and metadata to support consistent data retrieval, integration, analysis, pattern recognition and interpretation across the organisation.

You will independently validate external information from multiple sources, and plan effective data storage, sharing and publishing practices within the organisation. Identifying and addressing issues preventing optimal use of information assets, you will provide expert advice to maximise data asset value, ensuring data quality and compliance.

The Governance Lead will lead on exploration of new approaches for data visualisation and establish the purpose and parameters of the data visualisation, overseeing the use of data visualisation tools and techniques.

What We’re Looking For:

· Proven experience in a data governance, data management, or data strategy leadership role.

· Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM) and data quality principles.

· Experience implementing governance tools or platforms (e.g. Collibra, Informatica, Alation) is a plus.

· Solid understanding of data protection laws and regulatory compliance (e.g. GDPR).

· Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

· Strategic mindset with a practical, delivery-focused approach.

With a strong understanding of governance frameworks, you will have the ability to identify, assess and mitigate governance related risks. We are looking for a candidate with experience in both IT and Business roles, with experience of working across difference departments to understand the diverse business needs and how IT can address them.
