Risk & Finance Data Governance Analyst - AVP & VP needed!

Our client, one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, is on the lookout for two talented Risk & Finance Data Governance Analysts to join their EMEA Data Office in London. Position Details:

Contract: 6 months with strong possibility of extension
Daily Rate: From £450 (via Umbrella Company, depending on experience)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, standard office hours, minimum 2 days in the office

Role Overview:
As a Risk & Finance Data Governance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the EMEA Division's BCBS239 Programme. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across various functions to ensure fit-for-purpose data and drive best practises across the industry. This is an exciting opportunity to educate and inspire stakeholders on the importance of effective data governance.

Key Responsibilities:

For AVP Role:

  • Implement and support the data governance strategy and policy.
  • Drive the data governance implementation book of work and develop the pipeline.
  • Manage data definition, governance, and lineage for prioritised use cases.

    For VP Role:
  • Oversee data definition, lineage, and governance for prioritised use cases.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement data standards.

    Both Roles Include:

    Monitoring changes to business data requirements.
    Supporting investigations of data quality issues and developing remediation plans.
    Engaging with various teams to ensure clear communication of data-related business requirements.

    What We're Looking For:

    Knowledge and Skills:
  • Expertise in data governance, data quality, metadata, profiling, and analysis in a financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with BCBS239 in a Tier 1/Tier 2 bank.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SQL, and data management tools (e.g., Collibra).

    Experience:
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to drive consensus.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, SharePoint, and exposure to SQL, Python, or R is a plus.

    Candidates must show evidence of the above in their CV to be considered.
