Collaborate across gameplay and network engineering to deliver smooth, low-latency experiences
Optimise backend systems for scalability, cost-efficiency, and reliability
Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and real-time networking components
Ensure clean documentation and support accurate planning with time estimates and reporting
What you’ll need:

5+ years' backend development experience (games industry preferred)
Strong coding skills in C++, C#, Go, or Node.js (C++/C# ideal)
Deep understanding of distributed systems, real-time networking (WebSockets, RPCs, REST, gRPC)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Familiarity with matchmaking, player sessions, anti-cheat systems
Database experience across SQL and NoSQL (PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB)
Hands-on with microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, and server orchestration
Bonus if you have:

Familiarity with PlayFab, AccelByte, Nakama, or similar GBaaS
Experience working with console/PC network platforms (Xbox, PSN, Steam, etc.)
Knowledge of UE5’s networking model or client-server architecture
CI/CD and modern DevOps workflows
Benefits:

Salary up to £80k
Fully remote opportunity able to be worked from anywhere in the world.
A chance to work with top AAA studios.
A well-established career ladder that offers chances for advancement, more responsibility, and pay.
