BASIC SALARY: Up to £45,000

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Northampton, Milton Keynes, Wellingborough, Kettering, Towcester, Coventry, Rugby, Leamington Spa
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Software Developer, SQL Developer. VB.NET Developer - Manufacturer - UV Lamps
 
Our bespoke ERP system runs everything from orders and inventory to dispatch and invoicing. With usage growing and a road map that includes customer facing web portals and rugged Android/AR warehouse devices, we need a developer who can:
 
· Stabilise - Eliminate bugs that disrupt our current processes
· Enhance - Deliver incremental features requested by operations, finance and Sales
· Prepare for the future - Re-factor and document legacy code so new modules and UI's can be built faster
 
You will be our in house Coder, as such you will also:
· Triage, reproduce and patch defects in VB.Net forms, T-SQL, and SSRS reports.
· Design and build small-to-medium enhancements - new screens, additional fields, workflow tweaks - in WinForms and SQL.
· Write and Tune T-SQL.
· Use Azure DevOps to merge Dev >Live branches, publish builds and update dev/live databases.
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Software Developer, SQL Developer. VB.NET Developer - Manufacturer - UV Lamps
 
We want a real team player, someone who wants to learn but also be a part of something. ideally you will have 3a proven track record of building desktop line-of-business apps in VB.NET WinForms (strong C# accepted if you can switch to VB quickly).
 
It is essential that you have:
· Hands on Azure DevOps or similar Git-based workflow
· Experience reading messy code with limited or no documentation and refactoring it safely
· The ability to be a self starter who has the desire to own the codebase
· T-SQL: Query creation and optimisation
