Enterprise and Cloud software products for energy applications

Based in newly refurbished offices in central Cambridge, this growing company develop a range of products that are used by companies in the energy sector. Their leading products enable utility tracking that provides a robust framework that underpins energy commodity markets.

Due to the real-time importance of their applications, they take a strong engineering approach with their products, incorporating software testing from concept and all the way through product development. This value in test relates to context-driven testing, test design and test execution through automation (unit tests, integration tests) as well as exploratory tests. Software products range from Windows based desktop Enterprise applications to AWS cloud hosted web applications.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths or Physics with industry experience is software development focusing on software test engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience of software testing through development of automation test processes for Enterprise desktop or Cloud web applications (ideally both). Implementation or non-full product test suite experience is not sufficient. Specific experience with C#, .NET and SQL databases would be highly desirable.
  • Good communication skills (this is a collaborative team) and excellent problem-solving skills (an engineering approach through curiosity and lateral thinking is prized).

    The role is based in their Cambridge offices with the possibility of hybrid working (up to 2 days per week working from home), and hence candidates are expected to live in or close to Cambridge.

    On offer is an excellent remunerations package including bonus, enhanced pension contributions, private health care, and EAP.
