SQL / BI Developer – Retail & Ecommerce Sector
Location: Suffolk (Hybrid)
Salary: £50,000k - £60,000k + Benefits

With a dynamic mix of ecommerce and traditional retail channels, our client continues to grow and evolve in an exciting sector that connects directly with consumers across the UK.

They are now looking to strengthen their internal tech function with the addition of a skilled SQL / BI Developer. This role will play a key part in helping the business harness the power of its data, develop smarter systems, and enhance reporting capabilities through the use of Power BI and SQL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, optimise, and maintain SQL-based solutions to support business operations and data analysis.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to design and deliver intuitive Power BI dashboards and reports.

  • Improve data accuracy, accessibility, and insight across commercial and operational teams.

  • Identify manual processes and design automation solutions to streamline workflows.

  • Maintain and enhance ERP and business systems (such as Sage X3 or equivalent), resolving user issues and supporting system integrations.

  • Create and document high-quality, scalable SQL code and Power BI assets.

  • Play a hands-on role in delivering key system projects in line with business priorities and timelines.

    Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in SQL development and database management within a commercial or manufacturing setting.

  • Strong knowledge of Power BI, data modelling, and visualisation best practices.

  • Confident in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and optimising performance.

  • Experience supporting ERP systems (ideally Sage X3, NetSuite, or similar platforms).

  • Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Analytical mindset with a passion for using data to drive change and efficiency.

  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
