The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Azure Data Platform Manager to lead the development, delivery, and optimisation of enterprise-scale Azure data solutions across a multi-market environment.

This role will be responsible for driving data strategy, delivering modern cloud-based data platforms, and enabling business stakeholders to make informed, data-driven decisions. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management and project delivery capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the Azure Data Platform strategy, roadmap, and ongoing development.

* Design and deliver scalable Azure-based data solutions supporting business intelligence and analytics.

* Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

* Drive data platform enhancements across Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and related services.

* Ensure data platforms are secure, reliable, cost-effective, and aligned with governance standards.

* Manage the delivery of data integration, transformation, and reporting solutions.

* Oversee platform performance, monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement activities.

* Lead data-related projects, system rollouts, migrations, and platform upgrades.

* Manage third-party vendors and external delivery partners.

* Promote best practices across data architecture, DevOps, and CI/CD processes.

* Work closely with Architecture, Security, and Data teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

* Support budgeting, forecasting, and technology investment planning.

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience managing Azure Data Platforms within a complex enterprise environment.

* Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, and Azure Synapse.

* Experience with Azure PaaS services, monitoring, and platform optimisation.

* CI/CD and Azure DevOps experience.

* Strong SQL skills with experience using Python and/or PySpark.

* Understanding of data governance, data quality, and security frameworks.

* Experience delivering data projects and managing multiple stakeholders.

* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

* Microsoft Azure certifications.

* Experience working within FMCG, Retail, or multinational organisations.

* Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, or advanced analytics solutions.
