Data Consultant

£80,000–£85,000

London / South East | Hybrid with secure site work

Ncounter is working with a highly specialised AI and data consultancy delivering advanced analytics and machine learning capability into some of the UK’s most secure environments. They are growing their engineering team and are looking for a DV Cleared Data Engineer to play a key role in building complex data platforms that directly support critical decision making.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing, building and optimising data pipelines within highly controlled, high impact programmes. You will work across modern data ecosystems, integrating large scale datasets, developing robust ETL processes and enabling the deployment of AI and machine learning solutions into operational settings. The work is technically challenging, often requiring creative problem solving in constrained environments where performance, security and reliability are essential.

The organisation is at the forefront of applying AI within Defence and Government, with strong exposure to platforms such as Palantir and similar large scale data integration technologies. You will be working closely with both technical teams and end users, translating real world problems into scalable, production grade solutions.

Key experience required:

• Active DV Clearance and willingness to work within secure UK environments

• Strong Data Engineering background with solid programming skills in Python and SQL

• Proven experience designing and building ETL pipelines and data workflows at scale

• Experience working across cloud and on prem data platforms

• Exposure to machine learning or AI driven systems within production environments

• Understanding of complex data integration challenges within enterprise or secure settings

• Ability to engage with stakeholders and operate effectively in delivery focused teams

This role would suit someone from a Defence, National Security, or consultancy background who enjoys working on technically demanding problems with real world impact.

If you are looking to apply your data engineering expertise within cutting edge AI programmes and secure environments, please get in touch for a confidential discussion.
