Contract | Data Engineer | Fintech | Remote (UK-based)

We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a rapidly growing fintech on a contract basis.

This is a hands-on role building and maintaining robust data pipelines that power credit decisioning, risk modelling, and portfolio analytics. You’ll work closely with data science, product, and credit teams to deliver reliable, production-ready datasets that help innovate lending solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain data pipelines for credit and financial analytics.
• Ingest and process data from transaction systems, credit bureaus, and open banking APIs.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and reliability with automated checks and validation routines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver fit-for-purpose data solutions.
• Monitor and optimise data infrastructure for performance and scalability.

What You’ll Bring

• 2+ years as a Data Engineer, ideally in fintech, UK consumer lending, or financial services.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and tools like Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, or similar.
• Comfortable with transactional, bureau, and open banking data.
• Experience delivering production-ready datasets in a regulated environment.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Contract Type: Remote (UK-based)

Duration: 6 months initially

Rate: Competitive, outside IR35
