Our Data Engineering team are seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineer to join the team based in Leamington Spa, working on-site 5 days a week.

With high volume and a variety of data within our organisation we require an advanced expertise to ensure scalability, reliability and efficiency in our data ecosystem.

We require a person who has designed, created, & maintained data pipelines at large scale in a given tech stack, and also understands best practices and standards and is able to review if they are being followed at team level.

Role Overview
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Kwalee’s core data systems, including data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Maximise the accessibility and reliability of data for developers and users of data at Kwalee, while ensuring reasonable cost effectiveness is achieved.
Role Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test and maintain Kwalee’s data systems.
  • Support and enable the development of new data dependent applications.
  • Design and build pipelines to reliably deliver high quality data to applications and people across Kwalee.
  • Create, manage and optimise the usage of our data warehouses. Including performance management, cost management information and user security.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of data dependent software development projects.
  • Collaborate with the software engineering team and the technical product team to solve problems.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the scalability and performance of our data infrastructure as our business evolves.
Required Skills/Experience
  • In-depth experience of applying data engineering techniques in current role.
  • Experience using SQL and Python to effectively automate data pipelines and other tasks with tools such as dbt, airflow.
  • Strong experience with data lakehouse architecture (e.g DataBricks,Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Exposure to cloud services and their configuration (e.g AWS).
  • Experience in building and documenting data architectures and ETL/ELT processes, with a strong emphasis on performance, security, and data lineage.
  • Proven ability to apply data engineering best practices (e.g., CI/CD, testing, metadata management) to deliver high-quality, production-grade data solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
