Data Engineer

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Engineer to work on a highly transformative MoD programme that will have a big impact on the British Army’s future capability.

This role presents a chance to operate as an SME on Data Strategy, influencing key design decisions and would suit a Data Engineer who enjoys collaborating with cross functional engineering teams.

Location

In the Westbury, Wiltshire area.

Hybrid Working

2-3 days per week will be expected on site. Flexible working is available.

Responsibilities

* Ensure Security and Compliance of Data Environments

* Author, review and contribute to relevant documentation

* Assist in design or scalable, highperformance platforms and pipelines

* Define and enforce data engineering standards

* Act as an SME on Data Strategy

* Evaluate, select and integrate new tools into the data ecosystem

Skills Required

* Hands on Data Engineering experience

* Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)

* Good SQL skills

* Programming skills in Python, Scala or Java

* Data transformation

* ETL Pipelines

* Excellent communication and collaborative skills

Security Clearance

The ability and willingness to obtain SC Clearance is required for this role.
