We are partnering with an organisation that is making significant investments in its technology and data capabilities as part of an exciting period of growth. Data is at the heart of their future strategy and they are looking for a Data Engineer to help shape and develop a modern, scalable data platform that supports better decision-making across the business.

This is an opportunity to join a growing Data & Innovation team where you will play a key role in designing, building and optimising data solutions using modern Microsoft technologies. You will work across the full data lifecycle, from integrating and transforming data through to enhancing platform performance and supporting the evolution of the organisation's cloud-based data environment.

As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable data solutions that create real value. You will have the autonomy to identify improvements, contribute to architectural decisions and help drive best practice across the data function.

This is a hands-on role offering exposure to modern technologies including Databricks, SQL, Python and PySpark, with plenty of opportunity to make a visible impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines within Databricks.
• Develop and enhance ETL processes to integrate data from a variety of sources.
• Create efficient, high-performance transformations using SQL and Python.
• Take ownership of SQL development, including queries, stored procedures and database optimisation.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of data warehouses, data models and broader data architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and deliver reliable data solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, performance and scalability across the platform.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working in a Data Engineering role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Solid background delivering ETL and data integration solutions.
• Strong SQL and Python development skills.
• Experience working with relational databases and modern cloud-based data platforms.
• Knowledge of data warehousing principles and modern data architectures, ideally including Medallion Architecture.
