Ready to shape the future of data?
Matillion is the intelligent data integration platform.
We're changing how the world works with data – and we need driven, curious people who think big and move fast.
We built the Data Productivity Cloud to supercharge data productivity, and now we’re shaping the future of data engineering with Maia – our AI-powered virtual data engineers that help teams design, build, and manage data pipelines at unmatched speed.
Join #TeamGreen, where the mission comes first, collaboration drives us forward, and everyone pulls in the same direction to make a dent in the universe bigger than ourselves.
About the Role

We're Matillion — and we're building Maia, our agentic AI platform that helps data teams design, build and manage pipelines faster and with far less manual effort. For Product Design, this is a rare opportunity to shape how humans collaborate with AI to solve genuinely complex technical problems. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll own critical product areas, drive strategic design direction and work at the intersection of AI and data engineering — a space where very few interaction standards exist yet. This is meaningful ownership, high-impact craft and a chance to help define what the future of AI-enabled experiences looks like. We value in person collaboration here, therefore this role will ideally follow our hybrid pattern of 2 days a week in our innovative Manchester office. However, we can be flexible for the right person.About the Role

What you will be doing

  • Leading end-to-end design across discovery, definition, prototyping, testing and high-fidelity delivery — owning your product areas from problem framing through to shipped solutions
  • Translating complex AI behaviours and technical workflows into interactions that feel clear, trustworthy and genuinely intuitive for data teams
  • Defining and evolving new interaction patterns for human–AI collaboration in emerging, undefined spaces where you're writing the rulebook
  • Partnering closely with Product and Engineering in a tight trio — shaping how solutions come to life and ensuring seamless connection between intent and execution
  • Raising the bar for design quality and systems thinking across the team, while actively contributing to a stronger, more mature Product Design culture at Matillion
  • What we are looking for

  • Demonstrable experience designing complex products in fast-paced SaaS environments, with a proven track record of owning and delivering high-impact product areas independently
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates clear end-to-end thinking, sharp problem solving and high-quality execution — not just beautiful screens
  • Experience working on complex systems, technical workflows or data-heavy products — you're comfortable in the weeds and energised by it
  • A genuine curiosity about AI-driven experiences and emerging interaction paradigms — you don't wait for the standards to exist, you help create them
  • The confidence to influence senior stakeholders, represent Design at the table and balance big-picture vision with meticulous attention to detail

Where to Advertise Data Engineering Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising data engineering jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. Data engineers occupy a distinct discipline that sits between software engineering, data science and cloud infrastructure — and the strongest candidates identify firmly with the data engineering community rather than with adjacent roles. General job boards consistently conflate data engineering with data analysis, data science and BI development, producing high application volumes but low candidate quality for specialist pipeline and platform roles. This guide, published by DataEngineeringJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise data engineering roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

New Data Engineering Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Driving the Data Revolution

Data engineering is at the heart of the digital economy, transforming raw data into actionable insights, powering analytics, AI systems, and cloud infrastructure. As the UK and global markets continue to invest heavily in data platforms, pipelines, and real-time analytics, demand for skilled data engineers is growing rapidly. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.DataEngineeringJobs.co.uk , the critical question is: which companies are expanding, hiring, and shaping the future of data-driven business? This article highlights new data engineering employers to watch in 2026, including UK startups, scale-ups, and international firms expanding in the UK.

How Many Data Engineering Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Data Engineering Job?

If you’re aiming for a career in data engineering, it can feel like you’re staring at a never-ending list of tools and technologies — SQL, Python, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, Redshift, Terraform, Kubernetes, and the list goes on. Scroll job boards and LinkedIn, and it’s easy to conclude that unless you have experience with every modern tool in the data stack, you won’t even get a callback. Here’s the honest truth most data engineering hiring managers will quietly agree with: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every tool — they hire you because you can solve real data problems with the tools you know. Tools matter. But only in service of outcomes. Jobs are won by candidates who know why a technology is used, when to use it, and how to explain their decisions. So how many data engineering tools do you actually need to know to get a job? For most job seekers, the answer is far fewer than you think — but you do need them in the right combination and order. This article breaks down what employers really expect, which tools are core, which are role-specific, and how to focus your learning so you look capable and employable rather than overwhelmed.
