Senior Test Automation Engineer (Data Platform)Overview

We're looking for aSenior Test Automation Engineer to join a growing data-focused engineering capability, working within a newly formed agile squad. This is a senior individual contributor role, offering technical ownership and influence across engineering practices, without direct line management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain robusttest automation solutions, primarily using Python
  • Contribute todata pipeline and ETL testing strategies, ensuring high data quality and reliability
  • Work within anagile squad, collaborating closely with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders
  • Advocate for and implementnon-functional testing (e.g. performance, scalability), promoting a shift-left approach
  • Support and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance across squads
  • Contribute toCI/CD pipelines, improving automation integration and delivery efficiency
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, influencing technical decisions and best practices
  • Assist in evolving legacy automation frameworks toward modern solutions
Required Skills & Experience
  • StrongPython engineering experience, specifically for test automation
  • Solid background inJava development
  • Experience working withCI/CD pipelines (Azure preferred)
  • Hands-on experience withETL processes and data workflows
  • Cloud platform experience (Azure, GCP, or AWS)
  • Proven experience innon-functional testing, including performance testing (e.g. JMeter or similar tools)
  • Experience working inagile delivery environments
  • Ability tomentor and support junior team members
  • Excellentstakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Desirable Experience
  • Experience withAzure or GCP (preferred over AWS)
  • Exposure todata pipeline development
  • Familiarity withSelenium (legacy frameworks)
  • Experience withBDD tools such as Cucumber
  • Experience working withdistributed teams (e.g. UK/India collaboration)
  • Previous experience coaching or mentoring engineers
