Application Support Specialist – Cheshire – Hybrid – Up to £40k plus bens and free lunch :)

Are you a tech-savvy professional who thrives on solving complex application issues and improving digital services? We’re looking for an Application Support Specialist to deliver third-line support for a range of business-critical applications, helping to ensure the resilience and performance of vital systems across a fast-paced organisation.

You’ll work at the heart of the technology team, responding to escalated issues, collaborating with development and service teams, and engaging with third-party providers to ensure seamless operations. This role also offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with international colleagues on shared platforms and infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for business-critical application support.

Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted platforms (primarily Azure) and integrations with tools like Databricks and Datalake.

Manage third-line escalations, documenting incidents and ensuring timely resolution in line with SLAs.

Support mobile device management and security compliance via Intune and MDM tools.

Collaborate with service desk and project teams to drive continuous improvement.

Maintain and enhance system documentation, error logs, and training materials.

Act as the UK liaison for group-wide application initiatives.

Implement changes to applications and databases in a controlled, auditable way.

What You'll Bring:

Essential:

Experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 / CRM systems.

Basic SQL skills and ability to create and troubleshoot queries.

Demonstrated experience in application and device troubleshooting.

Ability to work independently and escalate when needed.

Familiarity with Agile practices and working with external support partners.

Background in 2nd/3rd line support environments.

Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, PowerAutomate, etc.).

Desirable:

Industry experience in hospitality or retail.

Familiarity with MDM systems, SCCM, or API integrations.

Exposure to project management and ITIL best practices.

Knowledge of automation tools like BluePrism or UIPath.
