Backend Web Developer – Sheffield – £30,000 to £40,000 + Benefits

An established and innovative technology business based in Sheffield is looking to recruit a talented Backend Web Developer to join their friendly and supportive team. This is a great opportunity to work on exciting, industry-leading web projects in a collaborative environment that values integrity, continuous learning, and a passion for technology.

The role is based in Sheffield full time Monday to Friday so Candidates need to live locally

The Role

The successful candidate will help boost development capacity and contribute to the delivery of robust digital solutions. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and maintaining a range of websites, portals, and web-based applications

  • Developing new applications using technologies such as:

  • Umbraco CMS

  • .NET / .NET Core

  • SQL Server

  • API integration and SQL querying

  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team and sharing technical knowledge

  • Offering support and guidance to internal teams

    Key Skills & Experience

    Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience, with proven skills in at least three of the following areas:

  • Backend development using .NET

  • Backend development using alternative technologies

  • API integration

  • SQL Server and T-SQL

  • Version Control (e.g., Git)

    You will also bring:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Effective problem-solving abilities

  • Confidence working under pressure and to deadlines

  • A proactive approach to researching and resolving technical challenges

    Qualifications

    Formal qualifications are not required – what matters is your capability, enthusiasm, and experience.

    What’s on Offer

  • Salary between £30,000 and £40,000, dependent on experience

  • Up to 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
