From our office in Market Harborough, You will be part of the team that keeps our sites across Europe running efficiently day to day. We work with some really exciting brands such as Amazon, Northface, Vans, URBN, Ocado and Nike

Once you are settled in you can work on a hybrid basis from home and the office although you may prefer to work in the office to make use of the gym, arcade games, pool table, coffee and snacks.

WHAT YOU’LL BE HANDLING

  • Creation and maintenance of all databases required across the business, this can include; development, testing and production environments.

  • Perform capacity planning to create and maintain the databases.

  • The DBA will work closely with System Administrators to manage the IT infrastructure environment.

  • Installation, patching and upgrade of Oracle RDBMS and associated tools.

  • Responsible for the planning and implementation of backups and recovery of the Oracle databases,

  • including the owning and managing of the Disaster Recovery Process using RMAN and other tools.

  • Support and maintain Oracle DataGuard and GoldenGate installations.

  • Provide database support for new databases and projects in development.

  • Implement and maintain security processes and procedures for all Oracle databases.

  • Maintenance and performance tuning of databases to ensure optimum performance and availability.

  • Good working knowledge of AWR.

  • Evaluation of new Oracle releases and any third-party products to ensure tools are appropriate.

  • Provide technical support to the wider team

  • Impact analysis of changes made to the database objects and environment.

  • Troubleshooting/analysis of database related issues, applications and development tools.

  • Write and maintain SQL stored procedures, scripts and shell scripts.

  • Support the implementation of managed services within the wider business.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Good knowledge of Linux operating systems

  • Oracle and operating system performance monitoring and tuning.

  • Installation and administration of DataGuard

  • Shell scripting and PL/SQL

  • Installation, updating and patching of Oracle databases

  • Excellent knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery procedures (RMAN).

  • Experience in code migration, database changes and data through project lifecycle.
