Early Years Teaching Assistant
 
Location: Taunton, Somerset

Pay: From £13.85 - £15.38 per hour (dependent on experience)

Contract: Part time, Fixed Term Contract starting in September 2025 until the end of the 25/26 academic year

ANZUK Education is working with a charming, one-form entry village primary school, complete with an attached nursery, in search of a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant. This welcoming school boasts outstanding facilities, including a well-stocked library, state-of-the-art ICT resources, and expansive outdoor spaces. With two large playgrounds, a spacious playing field, a sensory garden, a small market garden, and a dedicated wildlife area, the school offers an enriching environment for both learning and play.

About the Nursery:

Provides care for children aged 2 years and up, offering both full-day and sessional care from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, during term time (38 weeks per year)
Features a spacious, secure garden exclusively for nursery children, encouraging outdoor play and exploration
Offers two free-flow rooms designed to support age-appropriate learning: one for 2-year-olds and one for preschool children Why this Early Years Teaching Assistant role?

Be a caring Key Person, offering personalised attention and support to each child in your care
Observe and celebrate each child’s unique growth, thoughtfully planning activities that meet their individual needs
Lead fun and engaging activities both indoors and outdoors, from circle time and storytelling to sports and cooking
Design activities that spark joy and curiosity, tailored to each child’s developmental stage and interests
Lend a helping hand wherever needed, supporting your team and wider school team with flexibility and a positive attitude
Contribute to a warm, collaborative environment that adapts to meet the needs of the school community
Uphold all school policies, with a focus on health, safety, and child protection to ensure a secure environment for all Requirements of suitable Class Teacher applicants:

Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years education 
Proven experience working with young children in an early years setting
Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
Knowledge and training in safeguarding and child protection (or willingness to complete necessary training)
Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one Please note: a full registration with anzuk may be required for this role, we will also accept applications from educators who are not qualified.
