English Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S9)
Salary: £155 - £220 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time (Temporary to Permanent Option)

Are you a passionate English Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of readers, writers, and critical thinkers?

If so, GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Sheffield from September 2025.

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive English lessons to mixed ability classes, supporting both academic progress and individual development. This full-time position is ideal for a qualified professional who thrives on building student confidence and enjoys delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that spark imagination and foster a love of language.

Teacher of English Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
Teach across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5, tailoring lessons to a range of abilities.
Prepare students for GCSE examinations, focusing on both Literature and Language.
Track and monitor student progress, identifying areas for improvement.
Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm.
Deliver differentiated instruction and support to students with additional learning needs.
Mark and assess work regularly, providing constructive feedback.
Liaise with other English department staff to share best practices.
Take part in department meetings, CPD, and wider school initiatives.
Uphold high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and academic achievement.
Requirements for an English Teacher:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in English or a related subject.
Recent experience teaching English at KS3, KS4 & KS5 level.
Strong classroom management skills and a proactive approach to teaching.
A passion for literature, language, and student success.
The ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
