    Role Purpose

    As Infrastructure & Platforms Manager, you’ll lead a team of engineers and specialists responsible for maintaining the availability, performance, and security of our core platforms from Microsoft and Linux servers, to VMware, databases, and supporting technologies. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who can manage both the people and the platforms that keep our organisation running.

    Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage a cross-functional team responsible for infrastructure, platforms, and core services.

  • Ensure high availability and performance of servers, databases, virtualisation, and networked systems.

  • Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

  • Oversee resourcing, budgeting, vendor relationships, and license management.

  • Set and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and platform performance metrics.

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align infrastructure priorities with business needs.

  • Deliver on IT change projects, platform upgrades, and service improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain high standards of security, compliance, and operational risk management.

    Skills

  • Strong leadership experience managing infrastructure or platform teams in a mid–large organisation.

  • Solid hands-on understanding of:

  • Microsoft technologies (AD, O365, Server OS)

  • Linux platforms

  • VMware / virtualisation

  • SQL databases and platform services

  • Proven ability to manage and develop teams, delegate effectively, and foster a high-performing culture.

  • Experience delivering infrastructure projects and managing operational services at scale.

  • Comfortable with ITIL practices, Agile ways of working, and vendor coordination.

  • Excellent communication skills – capable of engaging technical teams and senior leadership.

    Knowledge & Experience

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments

  • Understanding of automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices related to enterprise infrastructure

    Qualifications: Relevant qualification (Science or Computer Science or similar) and/or industry experience
