We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Azure, Cloud, O365, and Big Data solutions to join our team at e.surv. This role will play a vital role in enhancing and deploying essential IT Infrastructure services while supporting our wider shared functions. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide third-line support for our email, server, storage, and network environments. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing Infrastructure services, as well as deploying new solutions with a strong focus on security and resilience. In addition to these responsibilities, you will contribute to the development and implementation of our Azure capabilities and ensure the smooth operation of our email, server, security, and network systems. You will also have the rewarding opportunity to mentor and support Junior Engineers, helping them grow and advance within the team. Your experience and guidance will be invaluable in fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the implementation of IT Infrastructure services delivered as part of the strategic IT roadmap, or business-led projects

  • Play an active role in e.surv’s adoption of Cloud technologies, including the adoption of Infrastructure as Code

  • Shared management of the lifecycle of IT Infrastructure Services – i.e. effectively designed, safely deployed, securely maintained, and retired

  • Provide day-to-day support of the Cloud Infrastructure - including server, storage and network components

  • Provide day-to-day support of Infrastructure Services and Tools such as Active Directory, File & Print services, and Exchange.

  • Own day-to-relationships with extended technical partners in the management of IT services, working in a collaborative and transparent culture

  • Act as an efficient and effective escalation path for the Junior IT Infrastructure and Desktop Support team members.

  • Ensuring IT assets are maintained in the IT Asset register, as per requirement

  • Lead in the root cause analysis and resolution of Problems.

  • To play an active role in identifying improvement opportunities, taking ownership of implementation, and ensuring that these are communicated to stakeholders.

  • Ensure all tasks are performed to the necessary standards in order to align to quality standards such as ISO27001 and ensure data confidentiality, integrity and availability

  • Ensure own H&S, and that of colleagues by complying with both legal and policy requirements.

    Essential

  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure – IaaS VMs, PaaS Dbs, App Services.

  • Experienced in implementing new Cloud native Services.

  • Understanding of Azure networking, EntraID, and Cloud security principles.

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a Cloud / Infrastructure Support role.

  • Experience of supporting Active Directory, GPO, and Azure AD.

  • Good Exposure of supporting Remote Access Solution e.g. VPN, Cloudflare, Azure VDI.

  • Experience of anti-virus solutions.

  • Understanding of networking protocols (IP routing) and principles of network traffic, TCP/IP, DNS and networking technologies.

  • Solid understanding of Backup and Restore technologies.

  • Experienced in supporting Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022.

  • Experience acting as technical escalation point for junior colleagues.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work on multiple streams of work at the same time.

    Desirable

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices

  • Skills in developing Infrastructure as Code, ARM/BICEP etc.
