Senior Software Engineer

Are you passionate about developing cutting-edge software for autonomous systems? Join an innovative company operating at the forefront of autonomous logistics solutions across sectors such as mail and parcel delivery, humanitarian assistance, defence, and environmental operations.

The Role

My client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join there Mission Software team. In this role, you will design and maintain critical software components for the command and control of autonomous cargo systems. This includes command and control software, health monitoring, and live video streaming solutions, deployable both locally and in the cloud.

As a key member of the team, you will:

Contribute across the entire tech stack, including database design, cloud deployment solutions, business logic design, and user interface development.

Lead design projects independently and offer support and constructive feedback to team members.

Help develop scalable and reliable software that supports critical logistics operations.

Essential Skills/Knowledge required :

High technical capability with good logical reasoning and ability to learn new skills.

Strong knowledge of C# and ASP.Net Core.

  • Strong knowledge of front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.

  • Good knowledge of Git, GitHub, and package management tools like NuGet & NPM.

  • Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database design and use.

  • Experience managing projects from conception to delivery.

  • Experience mentoring junior colleagues and Project Management

  • Self-driven with the ability to use initiative.

  • Contributing member of a high-performing team.

  • Willingness to learn and impart your knowledge to support the team.

  • An interest in aviation or related industry.

  • Willingness and ability to travel (access to own transport).

    Preferred Skills and/or Knowledge that would be beneficial .

    Experience working with external contractors to deliver software products.

    Experience with cloud deployment of software products.

    Knowledge of video/audio media frameworks.

    Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant STEM subject or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years minimum experience in full-stack software engineering.

  • Right to work within the UK.

  • Ability to travel abroad to EU and non-EU territories.

  • Vetting and security clearance (as required by role, location, or client).

    You will have a strong background in software development and system design.

    You are comfortable working with multiple technologies across the tech stack.

    You are a proactive team player, capable of leadership and mentorship.
