Are you a passionate and engaging Sociology teacher dedicated to fostering critical thinking and an understanding of the social world in young people? Our Outstanding school in the leafy borough of Havering, London, is seeking an enthusiastic Full-Time Teacher of Sociology to join our successful Social Sciences department from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and, crucially, Key Stage 5 (A-Level), within the local context of Havering and the wider social landscape.

In this rewarding full-time role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Spark Critical Analysis: Encourage students to question social structures, inequalities, and cultural norms, developing their analytical and evaluative skills, particularly at the advanced level of A-Level.

  • Develop Research and Analytical Skills: Equip students with the ability to investigate social issues, interpret data, and form reasoned arguments, preparing A-Level students for university-level study.

  • Contribute to a Collaborative Environment: Join a supportive and innovative Social Sciences department that values teamwork and shared best practice.

  • Thrive in a Supportive Community: Engage with students from a range of backgrounds in the welcoming borough of Havering, exploring social issues relevant to their lives and the local community.

  • Shape Future Social Scientists: Play a key role in guiding A-Level students towards further study and careers in sociology and related fields.

We are looking for a passionate and qualified Sociology teacher with a strong understanding of the GCSE and A-Level Sociology curricula and a proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons that inspire a critical understanding of society across both key stages. If you are ready to make a significant contribution to our outstanding team in Havering, with a focus on both Key Stage 4 and 5, we encourage you to apply for a September 2025 start
