We’re working with a long-established UK organisation currently investing heavily in its data platform as part of a wider modernisation programme. This is a permanent opportunity for a Data Engineer to join their Data & Insight team, helping build the pipelines, architecture and cloud data platform that will support analytics, reporting and AI capability across the business.
The team are in the middle of upgrading their data estate to a more modern, cloud-led architecture, so this role will suit someone who enjoys building data pipelines, improving data quality and working with large datasets in a structured but evolving environment. You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering team delivering reliable, scalable data products used across multiple departments.
You’ll be working across the full data lifecycle, from ingestion through to transformation and delivery into warehouse / lakehouse environments, using modern tooling across AWS, Databricks and Python-based pipelines.
In the role you will:
- Build and maintain data pipelines feeding a Data Warehouse / Lakehouse platform
- Work with Databricks and cloud services (AWS preferred) to develop scalable data solutions
- Write and maintain Python and SQL used for data transformation and processing
- Support improvements to data quality, monitoring and pipeline reliability
- Use Git and DevOps tooling to manage code and deployments
- Work closely with analysts, engineers and stakeholders to deliver data products
The environment includes Databricks, AWS services, Python, SQL, modern data pipeline tooling and version control platforms, so experience working in a cloud-based data engineering environment is important. Experience building pipelines into warehouse or lakehouse platforms will be particularly relevant.
We’re looking for someone with previous Data Engineering experience who is comfortable working hands-on with data pipelines and cloud platforms. Strong Python and SQL skills are essential, along with experience using Git and working in a structured development environment.
The role is paying £45,000–£55,000 with a 10% bonus, and requires 3 days per week in the Bristol office, with the rest remote.
