This is a unique opportunity to sit at the centre of a value creation function, shaping data platforms and AI capability across multiple businesses. You'll combine hands-on engineering with strategic influence, working closely with senior leaders to drive real commercial impact.

THE COMPANY

Our client is a highly successful investment firm focused on the lower mid-market. They are known for strong fund performance and a long-term, hands-on approach to supporting their portfolio companies. Data, technology and AI are core to how they drive value, and this role has been created as part of continued investment in that capability.

You'll be joining a growing value creation team that works directly with leadership teams across the portfolio, helping businesses modernise their data foundations and make better decisions.

THE ROLE
  • Design, build and scale modern data platforms across portfolio companies
  • Establish robust data engineering foundations to enable analytics and AI use cases
  • Act as a technical and commercial advisor to senior stakeholders
  • Support AI enablement, ensuring platforms are fit for future innovation
  • Balance architecture, strategy and hands-on delivery across varied environments

This role offers rare exposure to multiple businesses at different stages of data maturity, with the opportunity to shape both strategy and execution.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Strong background in data engineering with hands-on delivery experience
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills
  • Experience building end-to-end data platforms and scalable architectures
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Commercially minded with experience prioritising work based on business impact
  • Consulting, transformation or PE-backed experience is advantageous
