Location: Warwick with onsite meetings Fortnight every month About the Role:

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maturing and embedding our client's existing Data & Insights platform, which operates on the Azure stack. You will take the lead in engineering resources, ensuring the successful implementation of Databricks architecture and overseeing the ingestion of new data sources. Your expertise will be critical in providing technical guidance to support engineers, ensuring that production issues are promptly addressed.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver a modern Azure and Databricks Data platform, adhering to best practices.

Lead data engineering efforts across all layers of the data platform, navigating both legacy Synapse and strategic Databricks environments.

Oversee related DevOps activities, including branch supervision and merging.

Act as a Databricks DBA, ensuring optimal database performance.

Promote data pipelines and associated notebooks through development, test, and production environments.

Ensure correct configuration and comprehensive documentation of Databricks.

Enhance existing monitoring and control frameworks.

Provide technical leadership and coaching to a small group of Data Engineers.What You Bring:

Extensive hands-on experience with Databricks and Synapse.

Strong proficiency in Azure DevOps.

Solid knowledge of SQL and PySpark within a Databricks environment.

Experience using Databricks in a federated cloud setting.

Proven leadership experience with small engineering teams.

Skills in configuration management and documentation.
