Business Intelligence Developer – Nationwide Company - Up to 50K plus bens (Hybrid and/or fully remote options available) – West Sussex or UK based (fully remote)

Stratospherec have a wonderful job opportunity for a talented BI Developer to join the team at our client who are a nationwide company who provide Family centred services across the UK. This is a truly unique opportunity for an ambitious BI developer/ Power BI developer to use your expertise and insight to positively improve the outcomes for young people and their families. This role offers significant progression and exposure to the latest technologies for an ambitious Business Intelligence Developer who is seeking a long-term role collaborating alongside a talented team of developers and business analysts.

In this BI developer role you will be responsible for developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, transforming raw data from both multiple data sources and data warehouse into actionable insights to support business decision-making. This will necessitate you working closely with, and supporting colleagues from across the business and the wider IT team, to ensure requirements are met and service delivery is maintained to a high standard.

This is a brilliant role for an ambitious Business Intelligence Developer to use their expertise to quite literally change people’s lives, whilst working for a talented, collaborative, and exceedingly well supported team, designing, specifying and building software and backend solutions which integrate with or complement our clients business system applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.

• Collaboration with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Connecting data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business Intelligence reporting models.

• Optimizing data models for performance and scalability in Power BI.

• Producing accurate estimates for change requests and project deliverables.

• Participating in Daily Stand ups and other Scrum ceremonies as required.

• Creating solid, scalable, maintainable, and testable solutions.

• Creating and managing DAX queries, calculated columns, and measures.

• Integrating Power BI reports with other applications using embedded analytics and APIs where necessary.

• Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting tools.

• Providing training and documentation for end-users and team members.

• Monitoring BI solutions to ensure performance and availability.

• Providing third line support to the Service Desk, as necessary.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience with Power BI in a commercial setting

• Strong DAX, Power Query, and data modelling capabilities

• A solid understanding of relational databases, especially Microsoft Azure SQL Server

• Knowledge of data modelling, architecture, and reporting design

• An understanding of application security layer models in Power BI

• Expert in MS SQL Server and database tools and proficiency working with relational databases

• Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modelling (star/snowflake schema).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• An understanding of Power BI version control and integration with PowerBI Reporting.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

• Familiarity with data governance, privacy regulations, and compliance practices

• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field or demonstrable experience is desirable.

• 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.

• Demonstrable experience with Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service.

• Experience with some or all of the following would be advantageous Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform tools, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes and Databricks.

This BI developer role is offering a competitive salary up to 50K, Pension Scheme, Group Life Assurance Scheme, 25 days holiday and increased holiday entitlement subject to long service, enhanced maternity/paternity pay scheme, access to Perks for Work scheme.
